Sturgeon Lake Overview

  • Brownfields and advanced exploration opportunity in a prospective belt for volcanogenic massive sulphide (“VMS”) style mineralization
  • 250km NW of Thunder Bay, Ontario
  • Multiple drill-ready targets, near-term resource potential including the Abitibi Zone along strike of the historic Mattabi Mine, recent drilling intercepts include:*
    • 10.6m @ 16.5% Zn & 142g/t Ag
    • 34m @ 3.98% Zn incl. 9m @ 8.74% Zn
    • 5m @ 2.9% Cu
  • Limited Exploration since mine closure in 1991
  • Geophysical to define robust targets
  • 19.8 Mt @ 8.5% Zn, 1.06% Cu, 0.91% Pb, and 120g/t Ag total aggregate past production.

Sturgeon Lake Project History

  • The majority of historical production occurring from 1970 through 1991
  • Total aggregate past production total of 19.8 Mt @ 8.5% Zn, 1.06% Cu, 0.91% Pb, and 120g/t Ag extracted from the largest five deposits in the district**
  • The Mattabi deposit discovered in 1969 and was later owned and mined by Noranda as an open pit then underground mine
  • Falconbridge discovered the Sturgeon Lake deposit in 1970 and was open pit mined from 1974-1980
  • Limited exploration since mine closure in 1991 until 2010 - 2013 by Glencore with campaigns of diamond drilling and geophysical surveying
